Ministry of Sound suing alleged file sharers

Ministry of Sound UK, an entertainment conglomerate, with its London club, multiple record labels, licensing and franchise businesses, hired a sollicitors firm to send 2000 threatening letters to file sharers that alledgedly infringed on Ministry of Sound’s copyright. How to make friends and influence people!

The letter demands £350 from the alleged file sharers, otherwise, they’lll be taken to court. Similar techniques were used before and failed to have any impact on the users. The big record labels control the pop market. Electronic music is different. There are so many labels and an abundance of great music through podcasts and promotional mixes.

So threatening your fan base is probably not the smartest move.
